I think this tut will help me…

I’m trying out different styles and drawing characters from the stories I chose. Whichever characters turns out best will likely decide my story pick.

So far drawing humans is harder than animals..

Looking at different styles

I found this short animation about a water horse aka kelpie and found the illustration style beautiful. Also gave me some inspiration if I do the Doomed Rider story.

Mr. Fox

Kinda gorey, good storyline of how woman whose dogdy fiance brags about his castle, she then finds out in his castle he murders the women he marries (for their rings?? money, serial killer) She also witnesses him dragging another victim through the castle and cuts off her hand.

When presented with the wedding contract she states how she dreamt everything she saw, only to reveal the cut off hand with the ring at the end and points it at him.

Blondine

French folktale about a princess who ends up in a bad, magical forest due to her stepmom queen”s jealousy.

It describes the forest scenes as fields of lilacs so it would be nice to animate and draw a mystical purple forest etc.

She meets a white cat, who takes her to the palace of a white deer. These two help her, and then theres a whole story of how she finds and plucks an evil rose which releases the enemy magician (who takes the form of a parrot) This rose and evil magician is what turned the fairy queen and her son into a cat and deer.

Theres a longer pverarching story but its basically about foregiveness and overcoming evil, and theres a lot of characters and envionmental scenery to work with. The main herp and villain also sound cool to design, as its an evil magician disguised as a parrot and a little innocent princess figure as heroine.

This was one of my first attempts at making the dance, I had to tweak a few things to make it look good .

Then I added some bossa nova music and looked for some cute free vector backgrounds of Rio..

And went with this image at the end…
